You wouldn't guess this, but... I know how to weld.
The thing I love most about photography is... light. There is little I find as moving as when light reveals a moment. The word photography literally translates to "light writing." In reality, that's all a photo is: beautiful light, wrapping itself about a subject that unfolds and creates, simply, an evocative, balanced picture.
Married? Pets? Married for seven years - a wonderful trip so far. And yes – I adore our retired racing greyhound, Lochrima. We also have two frogs.
Education/Work History: College at New York University Tisch School of the Arts (Screenwriting/Art History) and Western Kentucky University (Photojournalism/Art History). Cum Laude, 2000. Before balance... I've worked many jobs and worn many hats – from the humble high school jobs, like cashier, server, and barista to more prestigious jobs, like Photo Editor at the Baltimore Sun. There have been a few fun gigs too, like a stint as a spoken word poet, model for a rave flyer and professional bellydancer.
Balance responsibilities: Co-owner; principal photographer & business manager
Time w/balance? Since... the first day. I started balance in 2000. In its first days, balance headshots operated out of three folders in my apartment. My, how we have grown!

You wouldn't guess this, but…I am an Eagle Scout.
The thing I love most about photography is… The feeling I get when I pick up a camera. I immediately start to see things differently. The moment fills me to the point of brimming over, and spills out in the work I create for my subjects. When I see the delight in their eyes when they look at what I have made for them, it fills me again with joy and accomplishment.
Married? Pets? Married to my perfect, smoking-hot match. To say we balance each other is an understatement. Lochrima, our retired greyhound is my best friend.

Education/Work History: BFA in Photography & Graphic Design from Salisbury University. Four Years as a graphic designer at the Daily Times in Salisbury, MD, now three years at balance and counting!
Balance responsibilities: Master re-toucher (I have my doctorate in digital surgery ☺); graphic designer; comic relief at shoots; giver of light (with the help of a reflector & some sun); and the occasional bird wrangling

You wouldn't guess this, but… I'm Ukranian.
The thing I love most about photography is… Pictures last a lifetime, even after the moment has passed. You can always look back on a photograph, and remember what was happening in your life when it was taken.
Education/Work History: Catonsville High School, 2011; currently studying at The Robert Paul Academy; Worked for two years at Charlestown Retirement Community as well as Six Mile Coffee before joining balance.
